Attraction Marketing: The Positioning

Attraction marketing is when people are draw to you because you have positioned yourself in such a way that you’re viewed as a leader/expert on a particular subject or industry.

Lets use Robert Kiyosaki the author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad as an example: Robert Kiyosaki has positioned himself as an expert when it comes to financial advice and other things. But we are going to focus on the financial side. He certainly taught me a lot about assets and liability’s. Because I have learned so much from Robert Kiyosaki I trust him. If he ever comes out with any more books I will buy them. He has build a relationship with me the reader. And in turn I view him as an expert.

Not only that but He has positioned himself in such a way that if anyone else tries to tell me what are my asset or liability’s I probably won’t listen and just go back to Robert Kiyosaki

That’s what you have to do is position yourself in way that you have that much poll with people. So people are eager to speak with you listen to what you have to say, learn from. Join you in your business venture.

So how do you get that kind of Position?

I only know of 2 ways Posture or Giving Value.

  1. Your Posture

Become a bad a** like the Red personality Type. You Know where your going and people better listen to you or they’ll be sorry. ( this is often hard to pull off if people don’t see you as an authority figure.)

  2. Giving Value (Market solutions through a product, newsletter or blog) Come from a place of giving instead of taking. Be helpful. Give people tips. Teach and educate them on tricks you have discovered.

How to give Value

Okay lets just say your product is dryer sheets. So instead of saying I have the most awesome dryer sheets in the world. They will make your clothes smell fresher. Pretty much your trying to convince them you have the best dryer sheet. (Yeah your selling)

Or You tell people all the things they can do with a dryer sheet once their clothes are dry.

They’re good for dusting, Repeling Mosquitoes, cleaning a shower door from soap scum etc.

This way you’re showing them how to get more for their buck. And then at the end you could say and if you need to buy more dryer sheets here is a good place to get them. With a link to your website.

You approached them in a non threating way. Making them more completed to buy.

How to become an Expert

The easiest way I know to become an expert is to provide valuable and useful information to people who are looking for it. Of course it needs to be geared to your specific niche or market.

Then people start valuing your opinion because of your knowledge and skill level.

When you have more knowledge on a particular subject or market People tend to seek you out because they want that knowledge. Ie Attraction Marketing (make sure not to lose creditably by leading astray.)

Oh yeah and don’t be foolish enough to think your an expert on something when you haven’t taken the time to become educated on the subject.

You would think I was some kind of Nut if I claimed to be a master at cooking and then I told you to use engine oil in your recipes instead of olive oil. Then my cooking reputation would be ruined. Because I didn’t have the knowledge I claimed.

So before you ruin your creditably before you even have a chance to get started. Make sure you know what the crap your talking about. Do the research needed. Read the books, take the courses, whatever it takes.

Remember this is your business. It’s your future at stake. Take it seriously. Lawyers have to go to law school to practice law. Why should it be any different for you? You need an education now go get it.
